Non-violent
Direct Action against Drug Dealers
Trish
Murray, a lifetime Irish republican is a 35 year
old mother of 2 children, who has lived all her
life in the Farranshane ward, Antrim Town. She is
a member of the Rathenraw Community Association
and a former activist in the widely admired and
highly successful Rathenraw Action Group that utilized
direct non violent community action to reclaim the
besieged community from the scourge of drugs and
drug dealers.
Upfront
Direct Representation the only way acceptable
I
would not accept anything less for my own vote and
I am asking you the electorate to accept nothing
less than direct upfront communication and information
at all times from all elected representatives. I
will bring community matters to your attention in
an open manner at every opportunity.
Permanent
Police CCTV at St Malachy's High School and Rathenraw
Estate
Unionist
demands for trees to be cut down in the Rathenraw
estate and demands for CCTV scanning in the area
most surely, adds insult to injury on a beleaguered
community. Which has for many years bore the brunt
of Antrim hate attacks. Many nationalists in recent
years have been forced from their homes in Antrim,
Crumlin and Randalstown. The vast majority of nationalists
more than 80% fled homes in the Town Ward in Antrim
not the Farranshane ward. Who then decided to place
cameras in the ward that can be attributed with
less than 1%. Did these decision makers consult
the electorate in Farranshane? No they did not.
Who orchestrates this secret consultation? Who decides
on this CCTV and tree cutting agenda - the electorate?
I want to bring this debate into the public arena.
Your area could be next - your school could be next.
Vote Murray No 1
More
high risk than asbestos dumped in Antrim Borough
Most
human rights are formulated because there are so
many human wrongs. For example, paedophiles are
relocated continuously into many unsuspecting communities
by the various statutory agencies in Antrim and
elsewhere, who incidentally, seldom if ever at all
choose their own communities to relocate high risk
offenders. The community remains unsuspecting and
not informed.
The
Right of the Child is paramount
No
member of the community should be shouted down,
isolated or smeared if they ask "awkward"
questions concerning their children's safety. Children's
rights above all other rights supercede any Antrim
Council notion of propriety or respectability. Of
course, much worse is the standard polite avoidance
approach by many inadequate elected party political
representatives.
Dealing
with the issues the others bury alive not dead
If any community matter needs aired it should be
facilitated and honestly addressed by our elected
representatives, not avoided. The Antrim Council
has for too long conducted its business in a state
of collective denial by declaring an In Confidence
solution - discussed behind closed doors especially
on matters concerning hate motivated violence and
intimidation in Antrim, Crumlin and Randalstown.
Scapegoating
All Young People - A Cover for Inept and Inadequate
leaders
Youth
Clubs are closing, schools are closing, community
led play park progress remains idle with other much
needed community facilities rapidly on the decline.
However, the council district rate has gone up.
Who is mismanaging your money? Who is out of touch
with the people it claims to serve and who regards
all young people as a threat and why? Our past and
current Civic leaders do and so too does the police
force and the small town media. Our young people
need to be heard also - what civic leader is reaching
out to them - none.
British
Double Taxation of Irish Water - Just say No!
I
was part of the Antrim Community delegation that
recently organized and arranged the only public
meeting held in the town concerning the forth coming
British imposed double taxation on Irish water.
All local representatives and present candidates
were invited - the only other candidate in attendance
was Aine Gribbon. I am urging the electorate to
say No to any new Water Charges, No to Metering
and No to Privatization. Don't pay twice for water
services.
