I
see that the PIRA or the Provisional Police, as they
are rapidly becoming known, have been out and about
re-enforcing the will of the leadership of Sinn Fein
yet again, only this time they have travelled overseas
to do it.
Where to?
To Scotland, where the Cumann of Republican Sinn Fein
had been invited by the Scottish Republican Socialist
Movement, to read out a message of solidarity at the
annual Massacre of Glencoe Rally, which took place
on Sunday 15th February.
RSF
were informed by the organisers of the commemoration,
on the day prior to the event, that they would not
be permitted to read out their statement.
The reason given was that the Pollok and Thornliebank
Republican Flute Band were told by the Provisionals
that if there was an RSF speaker, their band would
be put off the road and that they would never be allowed
to play at any SRSM event again.
Brave
people indeed, believe me, I know some of the people
in the aforementioned band and I don't think they
would take too kindly to any form of censorship being
inflicted upon them.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Gerry Adams
who said: "Censorship affects us all, it prevents
open and informed discussion, postpones the finding
of a solution and therefore perpetuates the conflict."
A really profound statement! Ah well, words, schmurdz.
Have the Provisionals forgotten the support and succour
received from our Celtic cousins from across the water
during the war for 32 County Sovereignty?
I
don't believe so, but I do believe that power corrupts
and having said that, it provokes another couple of
questions once asked by a former PIRA commander.
"Trust
Your Leaders?"
"Who Polices The Police?"
A
whole lot of questions I'm asking here, so here are
two more.
Does anyone agree with me and think it might be because
RSF are anti Good Friday Agreement and that "solidarity"
and "republican" have become words "disappeared"
from the Provisional vocabulary?
How long before "partition" and "Good
Friday Agreement" are "disappeared"?
