It
has been brought to our attention that the content
of Kathleen O Halloran's article, An Ireland of Equals,
was sourced from an article written by Dawn-Michele
Gould, "The
Women Hunger Strikers of Armagh Prison" and
published on her website, Ireland's Own, in October,
2002.
In
light of the extensive plagiarism contained in the
article attributed to Kathleen O Halloran, it has
now been removed from the Blanket website.
In
going through previous articles of Kathleen O Halloran's,
we found a number of other instances of plagiarism.
These articles have also been removed.
We
apologize unreservedly for publishing these articles
without their contents being properly sourced and
attributed.
The
Blanket is a voluntary project that relies on
those who write for it to stand over what they submit.
The Blanket does not condone plagiarism in
any form.
In
addition to apologizing to Dawn-Michele Gould, we
also apologize to our readers for our unwitting publication
of the plagiarized material.
If
any reader has concerns of any other instances of
plagiarism in the Blanket, please do not hesitate
to contact
us immediately so as to redress the issue. If
there is anything we have missed, we want to know
about it so that it may be corrected.
Again,
we offer our sincere apologies to Dawn-Michele Gould
and others whose work was used by Kathleen O Halloran
without proper attribution.
