Twenty
years ago we witnessed the Israeli defense forces,
their military intelligence agencies and their security
personnel involvement in the massacres of innocents
in Sabra and Shatila under the leadership of Ariel
Sharon. Twenty years ago we witnessed also the establishment
of the Internal Consultant and Ontarget Security company
(ICTS) established by ex-Israeli defense soldiers,
plus their military and security personnel. Twenty
years on Ariel Sharon is once again slaughtering the
innocents while the ex military initiated company
are now slaughtering workers' rights and lives through
sackings.
The
ICTS are in fact those behind the sacking of workers
at Belfast International Airport. So seemingly they
have learnt the lessons of how to deal with those
who dare to speak out for various forms of equality.
So with Israeli personnel presently caring not for
the lives of the Palestinians now also we have their
ex military personnel caring little for some livelihoods
and families in Ireland. Those sacked workers' only
'crime' was to take action against low pay and the
disgraceful inequality of the terms and conditions
imposed upon them. That is why they have called for
support for their pickets at the airport supported
now by their union the ATGWU.
Incidentally
while the company refused the minimal increase then
sacked them for speaking out for such, the company's
profits last year increased forty four per cent. Maybe
this was helped by the extra nine pound or so post
Sept 11 th charge for increased security which doesn’t
go into the workers wage packet or to finance extra
security measures? So just like Palestine the injustice
in whatever form has been learnt, repackaged, transported
and implemented in a differing form. Solidarity to
the airport strikers.
