I
am a former republican prisoner who for many years
has been unhappy with the direction of the one
time Republican Movement.
I
left the movement in 1994 after being told too
many lies. For the past 12 years I have heard
nothing but more lies.
But
like many others I bit my tongue and stayed silent.
However,
listening to recent remarks by Martin McGuinness
has prompted me to say something.
His
claims that his life is under threat from other
republicans seems the same as his many other claims
over the years - pathetic rubbish.
It
is meant to frighten his followers into saying
nothing in opposition to Sinn Fein supporting
the PSNI/RUC for fear that it might be said they
too want to kill the Sinn Fein leadership.
Sinn
Fein leaders seem upset that many republicans
see them as traitors. But what do they expect?
According
to the mother of Franko Hegarty her son came back
to Ireland after being assured by Martin McGuinness
that his life was in no danger after he had compromised
an arms dump.
Franko
Hegarty was later killed by the IRA on the grounds
that he was a traitor. Yet he gave fewer weapons
away than the Sinn Fein leadership.
This
hypocrisy makes people want to laugh at Sinn Fein
not plan to kill them.
